CATS 09 - The World Show 2009 of the FEDERATION INTERNATIONALE FELINE - FIFE

Dear Cats Lovers

A World Show of the FEDERATION INTERNATIONALE FELINE - FIFe has been organized each year since 1991. The country where the World Show is to be held is fixed by the FIFe. As early as 1994, this event was organized by the Swiss member of the FIFe, the FEDERATION FELINE HELVETIQUE – FFH. About 900 purebred cats were shown to a concerned and amazed public at PALEXPO in Geneva. These cats, which came from Argentina and from the whole of Europe, with the exception of Sweden, Norvay and England due to the quarantine regulations in effect at that time, competed for the titel of "World Winner 1994".

Cats09, the World Show 2009, took place on october 24th and 25th in Switzerland for the second time.

That weekend, more than 1'300 of the most beautiful purebred cats of the world stood in the OLMA Hall 9.0 in St.Gallen which has an area of 7'500 m2. The exhibitors and the visitors took also an interest in the lot of stands saling various products for cats while two restaurants as well as snacks in the open air were at their disposal to provide them with culinary delights. On Sunday, the awarding of the 26 Worldwinners was the highlight of this event for the exhibitors and the visitors

With a great weight off our mind, but also with a certain pride, we can cast a retrospective glance at a successful event.

I would like here to thank cordially all participants, the large number of voluntaries from our FFH clubs and from foreign clubs, the Int. FIFe judges and their stewards, for their generous work. I would like also to thank sincerely my colleagues of the CO who, the last days just before the World Show, took on their free time and even worked very late past midnight to prepare Cats 09.

I give also my thanks to the exhibitors and visitors for their participation, not forgetting our sponsors and partners for that event. The latter ones are presented on a dedicated page of this web site.

We did our best to always put on our web site the greatest number possible of informations for you. We apologize for the late bringing online of the results and photos. This was due to technical reasons.

Our webmaster do his best to continue to put new photos online. Photos which can be identified are associated to the corresponding result pages.

Your collaboration will help us to publish the photo of the cat you had at Cats09. If you find out your cat among the photos on our web site, tell us the the number or the designation of that photo as well as the name and catalogue number of your cat. Of course you can also send us your own photos. So our result pages will be an attractive and well illustrated reference of the World Show 2009.
